CONCILIATION COUNCIL.

Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, Aug. 17. A full agreement was reached in Conciliation Council between the Grey District Co-operative Coal Miners’ Organisation and the Runanga District Mine Employees’ Union. There are improved conditions, also wages, the rates being 22s 6d a day for underground workers, 20s 6d from 18 to 19 years, 18s from 17 to 18 years, 17s from 16 to 17 years, and 12s 6d under 16; 20s a day for surface workers, 17s 3d from 18 to 19 years, 17s from 17 to 18 years, 12s 6d from 16 to 17 years, and 10s 3d under 16; wet dips 25s per shift. . Other clauses are in accordance with conditions generally prevailing ill the district mines.
