OBITUARY.
MISS K. SPEEDY. The death occurred in a private hospital in Dannevirke on 'Monday morning of Miss Kate Speedy, of Burnview, a highly esteemed resident. Her passing was not unexpected, in view of her ailing health for some time. The deceased lady was a daughter of the late John and Diana Bruce Speedy. She was born at Burnview and had spent all her life in the district, where by her quiet and unobstrusivo work she did much that was of valuo to the community, besides assisting in the promotion of all district interests. For some years she had been actively engaged in the management of Burnview.
Relatives left to mourn her passing aro her sisters, Mrs \V. H. Nicols and Miss D. Speedy, of Palmerston North, Mrs Frank Armstrong, Mrs James Armstrong, Mrs P. V. Smith and Mrs (Dr.) Simcox, afid \er brothers, Mr Bruce Speedy, of Carterton, and Mr Stanley Speedy. ; The interment, which was of a private nature, took place at Burnview.
