Per Press Association

AUCKLAND, Aug. 17

The appointment of Sister Faulconbridge, of Auckland, touche position of matron of the AYilson Home for Crippled Children at Takapuna, was made by the Auckland Hospital Board. Sister Faulconbridge has been a sister at the Auckland Hospital for over three years and is at- present in charge of the infantile, paralysis cases in the children’s ward.

To ensure that patients will have the benefit of sunshine treatment, the Auckland branch of the Crippled Children's Society advised the board that it was prepared to contribute up to £6OO for the provision of a verandah and suitable exits. The board was also informed that a donation had been received from the estate of R. A. Biggs amounting to £602 for oripnled children in the home and that a gift of 30 rugs had been made by a city firm. A report from the management committee explained that the home would would not be in any way large enough to admit all likely applicants. The home will be opened on August 28. It is expected the Alinister of Health (Hon. P. Fraser) will be present.
