(From Our Own Correspondent.) STANWAY, Aug. 17. Mrs Macfarlane presided at tho monthly meeting of the Stanway Women’s Institute, there being a fair attendance Visitors were welcomed. A demonstration oi willow basket making was given by Mrs Raph of Bulls, for which she was accorded a’vote of thanks. A cooking competition resulted in Mrs Rosser gaming first prize and Mrs Coekburn second. Another competition, best flannel petticoat, resulted: Seniors, Mrs Whitehead 1, Mrs A. Green 2; juniors, Miss V. Green 1. “Best bloom in my garden, Mrs .)■ Whitehead 1. Afternoon tea was served by tho hostesses, Mesdnmes Cole, O. Onllingham, Groves and Guy. Miss D. Hamilton, of Mangawoka is visiting Mr and Mrs R. C. Hamilton. Mrs J. Goodin, of Eltliam, is on holiday with her mother, Mrs Rasmussen, Junction Road.
