WHALING CONFERENCE.
JAPAN MAY PARTICIPATE. Received August 17, 9.10 a.m. TOIvIO, Aug. 16. A Foreign Office official, M. Kuroda, told the Press to-day that Japan would participate in the next whaling conference if requested, but she hopes than England and Norway, who are at present almost monopolising the Antarctic industry, ,will agree to Japan having a fair share of the industry on its present scale.
