(From Our Own Correspondent.) MAKIXO, Aug. 17. Mrs M. MacDonald lias returned after spending a holiday at Patea. Mr and Mis J. Conk-on have returned home attcr spending a few days in New Plymouth. -Ml and Mrs C. Vincent, who have been spending a holiday in the Taranaki district, have returned homo. Mr and Mrs D. o. Younger. “Cinder Hill,” were guests at Mr and Mrs Andrew Lang’s diamond wedding at Stratford and have now returned homo. .Miss J Nairn lias returned home after spending a' few days with All's Lion MeGruer. AJessrs Naim, lb I-lille and R. Peterson journeyed to Wellington during the week-end. A record number of euchre players, attended the recent evening. All's A. Wjscli. nowsky won the first prize in the ladies section, while the consolation went to Mrs \V. D. R. Baker. Air I. Simpson won flic men’s section, and the scaled went to Air A. Shaldcvs. A Alontc Carlo dance was won by Miss Rita Thunslon and Air JI. Dewar.” The euchre prizes were donated by Aire \V. K. Hills and Air W. E. Baker.
