A retiring collection in aid of tlie Maori mission fund, taken at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church on Sunday, resulted in £2O being raised and a further appeal will be made next Sunday. Two Rugby teams and two basketball teams from the Pending High School journeyed to Danuevirke today to play return matches with the Danuevirke High School. Plunket activities in Feilding were stimulated by the formation of a Mothers’ Club some time ago and at the monthly meeting of the club two new members were enrolled. Donations totalling £3 3s were paid over to the building fund of the Plunket Society. In the Magistrate’s Court, this morning, Mr J. W. Coddington, traffic inspector, said that although licenses had been issued in respect ol 20,000 motor-cycles in New Zealand only 5000 of the owners had obtained certificates of warrant of fitness ,in respect of such vehicles. Regarding motor-cars Mr Coddington added that only a small percentage of owners had failed to comply with the regulations requiring them to have their vehicles examined.
