MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

TRAFFIC CASES. The fortnightly sitting of the F-eild-ing Magistrate’s Court was held today, Mr R. M. Watson, S.M., ing.Convictions were entered against the following offenders lor ruling unliglited bicycles: "Will. Boyd, fined 10s, and costs 11s; S. Staples, IV. Kitchen and L. Hickmott, eaeli fined IDs, and costs 10s. H. Godfrey was fined £l, and costs 12s, lor riding an unliglited motor cycle. For having failed to obtain a motor driver’s license, E. C. Browne was fined £l, with ccfits 12m. For failing to obtain a warrant of fitness in respect of a. motor cycle, G. Anderson was fined £l, with costs 10s. On a charge of overloading a motor lorry, Erie Short-all was fined £l, with IDs costs.

Referring to the number of offences in regard to unliglited bicycles, His Worship said that in future cvclists would find, it cheaper to purchase equipment to ensure that their cycles were adequately lighted. There were too unany breaches of the regulations. J. H. Miller, of Wanganui, was convicted on a charge of having failed to give way to traffic approaching an intersection on hia right. The charge arose out of an accident which occurred at the intersection of Kawa Kawa Road and Manchester Street on June 28, 1937, when defendant's ear and a motor vehicle came into collision. A line of 30a, with costs 10s, was imposed. Joseph Elliot, motor lorry driver, of Palmerston North, was convicted and fined £1 10s, with coats 10s, on a charge of having driven a motor vehicle on tho interaction of Manchester Street, Kawr. Kawa Hoad .and South Street without duo care and attention. The charge arose out of a collision which occurred on June 28, 1937. For failing to report an accident. TT Goodwin, of Snndon Road, Feilding, was fined £1 10s, with Court costs 19a, and witness’s fee 17s 9d. The charge arose out of nil accident which occurred on the Palmerston NorthBill’s highway on March 5. 1937, where"-, by a person had been injured.
