FEILDING SALE.

AUCTIONEER’S REPORT.

Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (inc. in England), report on the Feilding sale, as follows: — A feature of the market was tho excellent entry of fat sheep, wethers, ewes, and hoggets being evenly represented. Tho quality with few exceptions was good, and a firm market prevailed throughout. Prices for prime sheep of all classes advanced a shade on the previous week. Only three pens of breeding ewes were yarded. Store hoggets were in plentiful supply, and tho entry for the most part showed fairly good bloom. Both wethers and ewes sold at equal to previous week’s rates. In the cattle section boners filled one race and several pens of run cattle elicited keen interest. Fat cattle were in moderate supply and values advanced a shade on the previous week’s. The entry of dairy cattle was large and for tho most part a good sale is reported. Both cows and heifers of good quality and close to profit were keenly competed for. Quotations were as follow: Fat sheep.—Brimc fat hoggets, 295, 28s, 27s Bd, 26s 9d, 26s 4d, 25s 9d; medium fat hoggets, 24s to 255; light and unfinished, 22s to 23s 8d; extra heavy ewes, 37s to 39s 8d; medium to good, 31s to 365; light and unfinished, 22s to 275; shorn wethers, 30s 9d and 27s 4d; woolly wethers, heavy, 38s to £2: medium, 35s to 37s 3d; light and unfinished, 32s to 340 6d. Store sheep: M.a. ewes, 25s 2d: f.m. do.. 275, 255; ewe hoggets, 31s Id, 32s Id, 32s lOd up to 355; w..f. wether hoggets, 26s 4d, 265. 25s Bd, 24s lOd; medium, 20.3 6d to 23s 4d; b.f. do., 19s to 23s 7d. Cattle: Ylg. JP. A. -steers £6 6s; 2-yr empty P.A heifers, £5 15s; boner cows, light, £2, £2 ss, £2 7s, to £2 12s; medium, to £3 Is; heavy, to £3 17s. Dairy cattle: Extra good quality heifers (close to profit), £8 8s to £9 15s; others, from £5 10s to £7 10s according to breed, condition, size, and calving; cows, £3 10s to £5 15s, and up to £8 5s for better quality sorts; cows in milk, up to £7 ss.

LONDON LAMB MARKET FIRM.

The Bank of New Zealand (produce department) has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week:—The market for wethers is in short supply. The market for ewes is steady. The market for lambs is firm but in short supply until the next arrivals. The market for chilled beef has improved owing to shorter supplies. Wethers, light, 51 d to s§d per 'lb; heavy, 4fd to 5Jd. Ewes, 3Jd to 4id. Lambs, 2’s, 7|d to 7§d; B’s, 7fd to 7Jd; 4’s, 7Jd to 7J-d; seconds, 6Jd to 7Jd. Beef: Chilled hinds, 6d to 7d; chilled fores, 2Jd to 3Jd.
