EUCHRE EVENING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) APITI, Aug. 14. The usual school euchre evening was hold on Wednesday, with an excellent attendance. The iprize-winners were Flesdamos McNichol and IV. Hogan who tied; in the play-off Mrs McNichol proved the winner, and Mr Cockburn. Consolation winners were Mrs Gillard and lion Stewart, The lady’s prize had been generously donated by a Foilding firm. Mrs 11. L. Osborne played tor dancing. The final euchre gathering will be held next week amj points prizes have been kindly donated by Mrs H. L. Osborne. A doll has been presented by Mrs Uen&enian with a name to guo:a. PERSONAL.
Among a number of Apiti people who arc visiting Wellington for the Test match are Messrs T. Brazier and U. Hazeldene. SCHOOLBOYS’ PARTY.
Mia 11. L. Osborne was hostess when she entertained the primary school football team at her home on Thursday evening. Nineteen boys sat down to a sumptuous party tea, with all the good things dear to a boy’s heart. Competitions, games, and hoxing bouts tilled a most happy evening. Bob Stewart, tho captain of the school team, ably expressed tho boys’ appreciation and iiianked .Ur and Mrs Osborne lor their kindly hospitality. Among those present were Mr and Mrs A. W. Miss Osborne and several members of the School Committee and parents. GENERAL. The annual general mc-oting of the local Dairy Company will beheld next week and tho annual report and balance-sheet is now in circulation among sharehoideib. At tho express wish of the directors the details are not available for publication till alter tho meeting.
