Air It. Lapham, president of the American Hawaiian Shipping Co. of San Francisco, which, incidentally, does hot trade to Hawaii hut operates a service between the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, arrived to-day in company with his wife on a week’s visit to the North Island. Air Lapham is making a tour of the Pacific seaboard. Also in the party is Airs AlcCormick. wife of the president of the MifcCormick Lumber Co., of California.
Air Lapham spoke not of shipping matters but of Pan-American Airwavs, who, he said, are doing good work on the Manila run. and lie is sure would do equally good service to New Zealand. One of the directors had told him that the company had ordered several liners that would I>© much better than any the company at present is using. ■
