TRAMPERS LOCATED.
NIGHT SPENT IN THE OPEN. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 16. The fears for the safety of the six young nien, members of the Canterbury Mountaineering Club, which wen entertained when it was learned that they l\ad not returned to Arthur’s Pass last night after having set out in the early morning on a projected traverse from Phipps’s Peak to Alount Temple, were removed when it was reported to-day that they had been found.
The members of the party were: — Afessrs F. Gillett, I. Lawrence, R. Murchison, J. Clegg, J. Ollivicr, and G. Alandeno. of Christchurch. They set out from the pass at 5 a.m.. intending to make the traverse front Phipps’s Peak to Alount T emple, and were seen yesterday at noon on the summit of Phipps’s Peak. Search parties set out to-day and reported _at noon that they had sighted the missing men on Temple Col. Tt is hoped to bring the party in to Arthur’s Pass bv three o'clock. All arc believed to be well despite the bitterly cold night.
