SOUTHLAND VISITORS
TO-DAY’S MATCH. After witnessing the first Rugby Test at Wellington on Saturday', the Southland touring team arrived in Palmerston North late on Saturday evening in readiness for their match with Manawatu to-day. Yestercray' morning the players indulged in practice and in the afternoon were taken on a motor tour of the district, visiting Massey College, the Awapuni racecourse, the aerodrome and other places of interest. This morning a special visit was paid to Massey College, the tourists displaying a keen interest in the activities carried on there. Added interest attached to to-day’s game as Southland are the holders of the Ranfurly Shield. R. M. McKenzie, Manawatu’s captain, who played in the Test'match on Saturday, Id. Waugh, E. Fell and C. Edlin, who are injured, and Terry, who is on holiday, were not available. The teams, it was learned to-day, were expected to boSouthland. —J. Purdue; G. Baird, A. Wesney, R. Henderson; G.
