WIRELESS COINCIDENCE

S.O.S. HEARD BY BROTHER. Received August 16. 8.5 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 15. A native chief in Tanganyika, proud of the new “voicey” box he had bought, invited Mr Ernest Hawkins, the local Magistrate, to listen in. Mr Hawkins, when turning the knobs to tune in to London, was amazed to hear an S.O.S. for his brother, who was motoring in England, to go to a hospital, where his mother was dangerously ill. Mr Hawkins hurried to the nearest airport and reached England in eight days, happily to find his mother recovering.
