PLAY IN AMERICA. RYE (New York), Aug. 14. In the final of the women’s singles in tho Eastern turf tennis championships, Mile. J. Jedrzejowska (Poland) beat Miss A. Marble, 7—5, 6—4. In the semi-finals of the women’s doubles Miss Marble and Mrs M. Fabyan beat Mine. Henrotin and Mrs D. Andrews, 7—5, 5 —7, 6 —l; Miss C. Babcock and Mrs Van Ryn beat Mile. Jedrzejowska and Miss D. Bundy, 6 1, 6—3. In a semi-final of the men’s doubles C. G. Mako and J. D. Budge beat Cooke and Buxby, 6 —2, 6—3.
