INFANTILE PARALYSIS.
TEN CASES REMAINING,
Of the 28 cases of infantile paralysis admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital in the course of the outbreak in this district a short time ago there are now ten remaining. . Not all the cases admitted showed actual paralysis, and a number did not develop it. Of the ten cases still in hospital not all are affected to the extent that they have to remain because of paralysis, for in a number of cases it is not convenient, on account of the location of their homes, for them "to leave the institution and attend' often for treatmen. A big circular bath has been installed at the Hospital and, there being an adequate supply of hot water to maintain the requisite teinperature, the patients are given exercise in it in addition to massage treatment. It is expected that a number of the cases, possibly six or eight, at the Hospital will bo remaining there for some months yet in order _ that they may secure, the best possible results from the treatment.
