MOTHER FLEES COUNTRY

While her ex-husband, lawyers in the case, and a Judge were waiting for her m the Belfast High Court, Mrs Mary Lyons. 27, blonde and American-born, was flying to England with her five-year-old son. The boy was the subject of a levl battle in which both parents claimed right to his custody. At a previous hearing it was stated that the husband kidnapped the boy in America and brought him to Belfast. The Court handed the boy to his mother, pending final argument in the case, when she was bound to produce him. As neither she nur the' boy appeared, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Mrs Lyons oil a charge of having committed contempt of Court. She was traced to a Liverpool hotel, and was sleeping when the police arrived and took her into custody.
