FORTY-HOUR WEEK.
FEDERAL LABOUR ATTITUDE. NO STATE COMPULSION. Received August 13, 11.55 a.m. CANBERRA, Aug. 13. The Labour Party will not demand that the Labour Premiers of Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania should introduce the 4U-hour week to prepare the way for Labour’s Federal election campaign. A suggestion to a meeting of the Labour Council of advioe that such a direction should he sent to the States was not supported.
