COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL.

LADIES’ COMMITTEE MEETS. Tlie College Street School Ladies’ Committee met on Wednesday evening, when Mrs Whyte presided. Also prop°nt were Mesdnmes Wntchorn, Christmas, Duckworth, Persson. Rose an.? Livingston (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mt<dames Cooper, Drake, ITold'sworth, King, Mills. Robson and Tempteton. Mrs Kennedy and Mrs Stevens were cordially welcomed as new members of the committee. A better of appreciation of the '-ork and organisation by the committee was received from the secretary of the men’s committee. A statement of receipts and expenditure of the ball was received and adopted. The committee (.laced orl record their sincere appreciation of the valuable assistance given by all helpers at the school ball last month, also the various firms for their generous donations. A letter of congratulation to tlm headmaster (Mr Plank) and his staff on the capable manner in which ’ the children were trained for the ball was forwarded, with special mention of Miss Ross, who trained the children for the extra item, “Reap tho Flax.” This was cleverly and most spectacularly done. Mention wa6 also made of the excellent behaviour of the children in the supper room: this also reflected great credit on the teachers of each class. A special vo+e of thanks was accorded Mr G. Wntchorn who is always at hand with his generous assistance.
