Figures compiled by the Australasian for the Australasian Turf Register show that Heroic was the leading sire last season with winners of £32,325. Heroic thus emulated the feat of his sire, Valais, who headed the list qf Australian sires for five successive years. Next to Heroic comes Spearfelt, who sired the winners of £20,348.
