DEEP-SEA FISHING.

INTERNATIONAL CONSERVATION

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 11. New sea fisheries legislation is to be introduced in the next session of Parliament, 90 that the British Governpean agreement for the control of deepsea fishing. Ten countries are party to the agreement, including Belgium Holland, Denmark, Germanj’, Iceland and Norway. France, though not a signatory, has undertaken to give legal co-operation. The agreement relates to all forms of trawiing and bottom net fishing, laying down standards for the size of the mesh in nets and for the sizes of different fish which may be landed or exposed for sale. The obiect is the preservation of the natural stock of common fishing grounds by restricting th« catching of immature fish.
