LORD NUFFIELD’S GIFT.

“TALKING BOOKS” FOR BLIND. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 11. The promised gift of £35,000 from Lord Nuffield toward the provision of “talking books” for the blind is announced. The gift will be made in 14 half-yearly instalments of £2500. In August, 1935, Lord Nuffield contributed £SOOO toward the cost of “talking books,” which are being produced by a sound-recording committee set up by the National Institute for the Blind and St. Dunstan’s. The previous month Lord Nuffield had sent £IO,OOO for the welfare of the Wind to Sir Beaehcroft Towse, V.C., < n irman of the National Institute for tne Blind.
