SALE OF JERSEY CATTLE.
On the 10th instant, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Lid., and the N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., in conjunction, conducted a sale of pedigree and grade Jersey cattle on behalf of Mr C. T. Kceblo at the homestead, Fitzherbevt. There was a good attendance. The pedigree cattlo totalled thirty head and comprised Mr Kecblo’s entire Jersey stud. Although testing had not been carried on, the cattlo showed good dairy quality and the cows sold at from 8 tp 17j guineas. Two-year heifers made nine and ten guineas. There was also steady competition for bulls, two-year-olds selling at from eleven to fourteen guineas, and yearlings at seven to ten guineas. The line of thirty grade heifers sold particularly well. Heifers, calv;d, made £7 to £lO, and springers (early ealvers), £7 10s to £9 10s, according to size; more backward, £6 to £B. A range of implements, timber posts, etc., interested a good attendance of buyers.
