TRAIN STRIKES TAN.
DRIVER FATALLY INJURED. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 11. When his delivery van was struck by the north-bound express to-night at Manutahi, the driver of the van, Mr C. S. Barclay, butcher, Manutahi, South Taranaki, suffered head injuries, a fracture of the right leg and shock from which he died three hours later at Hawera hospital. The impact was so severe that the van, of a modern type, was wrecked and debris was scattered over a considerable area.
