BRITISH MUSIC SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the Feilding branch of the British Music Society was held at the home of Mr and Mrs J. G. Eliott on Tuesday evening, when Mrs W. A. Sandilands gave an address on the life and works of Robert Schumann. At the conclusion of her address she was accorded a vote of thanks. The following programme was then enjoyed:—Piano solos, “Bird Prophets,” “Whims,” Miss D. Whitehead; vocal solos, “The Wanderer’s Song,”. “Passing By,” Mr B. Gnadinger; ’cello solos. “Garden Melody,” “Romance,” Miss N. Hausmann; pianoforte solos, “Novelette in F,” “The Wayside Inn,” M:ss L. Geary; pianoforte quartet. Ist movement of “Eb Quartette,” Mr and Mrs Farmer. Misses Garrett and N- Hausmann ; vocal solos, “The Sa.ndman.” “Like as a Flower,” Mrs Sandilands; pianoforte so'o, Ist, 2nd and 3rd movements of “Sonata in G.” Miss M. Garrett; vocal solos, “Yonder,”- “Bless'' This House,” Miss K. Blanchett. Those present were: Mesdames A. B. Farmer, W. ITulse, W. McPhail. W. Sandilands, Misses M. Garrett, N. Hausmann, D. Whitehead, L. Gearv K. Blanchett, I. and B. Ware, B. Eliott, Messrs A. L. Dixon, A. B. Fanner and B. Gnadinger.
