Tho order was the same down the back, arid with a round to cover Llewellyn’s Pride led from Pot Luck, Lucky Jack, King’s Warrior, Reporter and Gallant Knight, Llewellyn s Pride held his position to the straight, but King’s Warrior drew out to win easily by two lengths from Pot Luck, with Llewellyn’s Pride three lengths away. Cloudy Range was fourth and Glenrossio fifth. Times: 4.28 1-5, 4.30 2-5, 4.30 3-5.

Waikato Prince still led entering tho straight, followed by Norman Fox, Raclaim, Discord, Bittersweet and Flotsam. Waikato Prince stayed on to win by two lengths from Raclaim, with Ganton a length away, and Norman Fox fourth. Times: 4.31 2-5, 4.31 3-5, 4.32.
