ST DAVID’S GUILD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of St. David’s Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild proved most enjoyable when it was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs A. Stewart presiding over a good 'attendance. Mrs' Stewart welcomed members and also the new secretary (Mrs A. E. J. Ashby) and committee, as it was the first j meeting since the annual one. j 'flic room looked most attractive '■ with new carpets in autumn shades on the floor, and spring flowers in vases. i The resignation from the committee of Mrs C. A. L. Boag, who has left Palmerston North to reside in Kelburn, Wellington, was accepted with regret, and it was decided to write expressing the hope that she would take up guild work once more when she returned to Palmerston North. The secretary was instructed to write to Mrs Anderson conveying sympathy with her in her illness, and to send her flowers, and also to Mrs Stevens congratulating her on the birth of a daughter. Two interesting competitions were won by Mrs 11. E. Townshend and Miss Lavery, and an amusing roll call was held, members telling of the household task they liked best and the one they, disliked most. Afternoon' tea was served by tlrt committee.
