’ PARIS. Aug. 9. Jacques Cartonnet, the French swim, mer, who covered 100 yards in 69 4-5 sec., achieved his record using a new butterfly stroke, but to-day a Soviet swimmer, Boitchenko, using the breaststroke, broke Cartonnet’s record by lsec.
