STARR-BOWKETT SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the hoard of directors of the Palmerston North Co-operative Building Society was held last evening, Mr M. A. Eliott presiding. Other directors present were Messrs H. F. Wilson, D. F. Smillie, H. Christmas, J. B. Gerrand, and S. W. Rapley. Business was conducted in all groups. In group 5 a loan of £SOO was granted on a Palmerston North property, and in group 7 aloal of £SOO on a Nelson property was approved subject to valuation. In group 10 a loan of £IOOO on a Feilding property was granted. The secretary reported ballots for sale in group 8. The board affirmed the advisability of opening a new group and appointed a subcommittee to go into the matter.
