Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Aug. 11. A fine of £3O, in default tlire'“ months’ imprisonment, was imposed to-day on William Joseph Brosnnhan. who pleaded guilty to bookmaking at Riccarton yesterday. It was stated l>y the police 'that* Brosnaha.n was'taking bets outside the course and had in lps possession £3B 2s. Hb had been fined. £2O for a similar offence'a few years ago. Counsel said that Brosnnhan was doing business only in a small wav.
