WAIHI HOSPITAL.
TROUBLES CONTINUE. Per Press Association. AVAIHT, Aug. 11. The troubles of the Wflihi Hospital Board in relation to administration, medical appointments and the nursing and domestic staffing continue. The matron, owing to a disagreement with the medical superintendent, recently resigned. Following a conference of members with the matron, a lettei was received from the latter at last night’s board meeting stating that, having the confidence of the board, she would continue her duties. A telegram from the Aliruster ol Health (Hon. P. Fraser) was read to the effect that he had been advised ot the possibility of the board considering the question of entering into an agreement with the assistant med.cal superintendent for his appointment for a period of three roars. As it was the Minister’s intention to recommend the union of the AVaihi. Thames and Coromandel hospital districts, it was particularly desirable that the board should not enter into such an agreeSome. members considered'that the hoard should certainly abide by the Alinister’s request. After a discussion it was decided to defer the matter ot the agreement for three months.
