Only three years have been “dry” since 1920 in the South'of England. Nineteen hundred and twenty-one had a rainfall seventy per cent, of the normal; 1933’s was eighty per cent., and 1934’s was ninety-five per cent. In contrast to these figures, the average temperatures were above normal in fourteen years since 1920.
