PUBLIC SERVICE.
SUPER ANNUITANTS MEET. The annual meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the Public Service Superannuation Servants’ Association was held recently, when there was a good attendance of members. Mr 1). W. Low. president of the branch, was in the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet disclosed a very healthy condition, both numerically and financially. In speaking to the report, the chairman stated that three members had passed away since the last annual meeting and the sympathies of the members had been conveyed to their relatives. Remits for the conference to be held in September were discussed by the members and Air M. J. Loe was appointed delegate. Officers were elected as follow: President. Mr D. W. Low; vice-president, Air T. C. Watson ; secretary-treasurer, Mr M. J. Lee: committee, the same as last year, with the addition of Mr T. Quirke and Air i. Tnglis. Members spoke in appreciation ol the work of the secretarv and officers of the past year, also of the work done by tlir central executive in Wellington. The president appealed to all members present to do their host to enrol any not in the association at present, especially those who were just retiring from the various departments.
