EFFICIENCY CUP.
RESULT OF COMPETITION. With an average of 32.5 marks, it was reported to the management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union last evening that Feilding Old Boys had won the Efficiency Cup competition conducted for junior grade players. It was added that since its introduction there had been a wonderful improvement throughout the junior clubs, and it was recommended that a similar competition be conducted for third grade players next season. Features had been loyalty to the captain on and off the field, the behaviour of the teams having been excellent. Punctuality had been good. Though some teams were late at times there was a distinct improvement over previous, seasons, ’ one country team having been always on time. There had been a noticeable improvement in adherence to the rules and spirit- of the game. the competitions being marked by a complete absence of rough play and unfair tactics. All the teams deserved commendation for the was they had played the game. They had turned out neat and clean, and in proper club colours. AA’itb tho exception of Massey College, whose vacations kept them out of some of the games, there were only two defaults during the season. Results of the competition were asjfollow:—~• Net Pts. It was decided to congratulate feiJriinrr Old Boys on winning the trophy, and that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee to institute a similar competition ill the third giade
next season.
