EMPIRE TRADE WORK.
SIR EDWARD DAVSON DEAD. LONDON, Aug. 8. The death has occurred of Sir Edward Davson, chairman of the British Empire Producers’ Association. A chairman of Barclay’s Bank, Sir Edward was made baronet in 1927 for his Empire work, which has included trusteeship of the Imperial Institute, colonial and protectorate representative on the Imperial Economic Committee, membership of the Colonial Development Committee, governorship of the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture, colonial trade adviser to Britain at the Ottawa Conference, membership of the now-defunct Empire Marketing Board, chairmanship of the Federation of Empire Chambers of Commerce and presidency of the Capetown congress in 1928.
