JAMBOREE CONCLUDES
CHIEF SCOUT’S FAREWELL. A TOUCHING SPEECH. APPEAL FOR PEACE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 10, 10.10 a.m. HAARLEM, Aug. 9. “The time has come to say goodbye. Sonic of us will never meet again. I am in my 81st year and near the end of.my life, while you are beginning yours.” Thus spoke Lord Baden-Poweii in farewell to 28,0(50 Boy Scouts at the final march past at the jamboree at Vogelensang. The main part of his speech was devoted to an appeal to the boys to remember the Scouts’ code, which would heln to bring peace and goodwill. He told them they would hear war talk, but thev would know that the better way of settling their differences was amicably.
The Jamboree closed to-night with a sing-song around a gigantic camp fire.
