LINDESAY KNOCKS OUT MUIR. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug. 9. A professional heavyweight boxing contest between Dennis Lindceny, Auckland, and George Muir, •Southland, elided in a knock-out win for Liildesay in the third round. The winner had a decided advantage in weight, as he turned the sc.ttles at l3st 91l> in comparison’ with Muir’s I2st Gib. It was evident from the start that Lindesay was the harder puncher, and iii the first round he rocked his opponent with a left hook followed by a right cross. These blows caused Muir to hold on, and lie was again ordered to break after taking three hard rips to the ribs. Muir swung wildly in the second round, whereas Liildesay measured his punches much better. Following a right to the bead, Lindesay sent in a stinging right to the solar plexus which sent the (southlander down for a count of seven. Shortly after rising lie was floored again with a right cross,'the gong saving him from taking the count. Early in the third round Lindesay attacked his opponent with a sUcces--1 sion of loft and right hooks to the head, and then finished matters with a right cross.
