MRS PUTNAM’S RADIO.

INQUIRIES AT DARWIN. The American Consul-General in Sydney has written to the Administrator of the Northern Territory (Mr Abbott) asking that statements should lie taken from Sergeant S. Rose, who is in charge of the R.A.A.F. directional finding station, and who examined M,rs Putnam’s apparatus, regarding the nature of tlie radio difficulties which site experienced on the Timor Sea crossing, a description of the adjustments made at Darwin, and Semen lit. Rose’s opinion about the probability of subsequent difficulties with tlie apparatus. Tt is suggested that this information might he of great importance in explaining why Mrs Putnam was unable to give radio assistance to those searching for her when-her ’plane was forced down.
