HOROWHENUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) .OTAKI, Aug. 9. Members of the Aotea (Wellington) Miniature Rifle Club visited Otaki on Saturday night for a shoot with members of the Otaki Club. Tho visitors put up the best performance, tho men winning by ten points and tho ladies by three. Miss Ngaire Bcvan, who has been a pationt at the Palmerston North Hospital, has made a good recovery and has been discharged. Miss Betty Edwards is still a patient at the Hospital. The funeral of tho late Airs Barrel t took place at Waikanac yesterday, when thoro was a representative gathering, many being present from Otaki and district. Rev. P. Temuora conducted an impressive ceremony.
