SUPREME COURT.

VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. For the third time. Charles Frederick Neil Johnson, a labourer, aged 39, yesterday stood his trial in the Supreme Court, before His Honour the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, and a jury of 12, on a serious indictment. At the first trial accused was found not guilty’ on two of the charges, but the jury failed to agree on the four others. The latter were tho subject of a further trial, there being a disagreement on that occasion also. In yesterday’s trial the charges on which there had been the two disagreements were the subject of the hearing. The Crown Prosecutor (Air H. R. Cooper) conducted the case for the Crown, and Mr J. M. Gordon appeared for accused.

Tho following were the members of the jury: Messrs A. M. Burgess (foreman), H. W. Tweedale, W. M. Olliver, H. R. Farquhar', A. C. Baker, W. A. Price, E. It. Eamos, It. A. Allan, N. Johansen, W. A. Penman, H. Hodge and B. Hickey. Tho Court was cleared for the hearing of the evidence. A verdict of not guilty on all the counts was returned by the jury after a retirement of less than half an hour.
