CHILD DROWNED.
FALL INTO PATE A RIVER. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 9. Falling into the Patea River to-duy, Leah Margaret Simmons, 2J-year-old child of Mr and Mrs C. Simmons, was drowned. A group of children was playing on the river bank when Leah overbalanced and fell into the water. Her body was recovered 50 yards downstream.
