MANAWATU RACING CLUB.
SMALL PROFIT FOR YEAR. The 57th unnual report and statement of accounts of the Manawatu Racing Club, covering the year ended June 30, 1937, states that the totalisator turnover for the year amounted to £142,460, an increase of £55,315 on the previous year. The amount given in stakes was £BB4O, an increase ot £1750 on the amount given for the 163536 season. After allowing tho amount of £4375 3s 4d for depreciation, the income and expenditure account shows a profit of £3O 14s 2d. , „ . , The training tracks and facilities have been kept in excellent order and the damage done by last year’s gale has been made good, adds the report. The committee records with deep regret the death of Messrs, Caccia Birch, D. Bell, G. Luoni, H. B. Tucker, and -N. H. Nash, and also that of the club’s auditor, Mr E. G. Sim. the committee desires to thank the honorary officials and permanent staff for tho capable way in which their duties were performed.’ 1
