LATE MARCHESE MARCONI. LONDON, July 25. -\ romance of the late Marchese Marconi is recalled by the marriage ot Miss Elizabeth Narcissa Poynter to a Belgian, M. Olaf de Baerdemaecker, at St. Buryan, Cornwall. The bride was for a time Marconi’s fiancee. Thirteen years ago, when Marconi was conducting broadcasting experiments on board the yacht Elettra, he proposed to Miss Poynter, who was then 17. His own age at that time was 50. She accepted, but the engagement was later broken off by mutual consent. On learning lately of her approaching marriage, Marchese Marconi sent his congratulations. Mrs C. H. Poynter, the bride’s mother, made the first radio-telephone call to Australia.
