KOSY THEATRE. “SAINTS IN EXILE.” The star appears as “Big Bill” Waldo, an overlord of the underworld, who, beneath that exterior, is a simple, appealing sort of fellow. Driven to cover, ho takes his gang to a small town, the same whom he spent his boyhood, held in esteem as son of the local minister. Along goes Babe, with whom he shares an unspoken affection, played by Mynne Oibson. The racketeer is asked to speak at a church social. Carried away by his own eloquence, ho brings the crowd to its feet. Elated, he realises he has found a now practice, one where lie will he perfectly safe. He liccomes a take cvanagelist. The money tolls in. To holster up las front of respectability, he induces Myrtle Thornton, an .innocent organist, to join his group. This character, portrayed by Evelyn Venable, helps eicate an unusual triangle, with Bancroft centred between two entirely different types of women. “Saints in Exile” is screening to-night at the ICosy Theatre. “AVENGING WATERS.”

Replete with exciting adventures, gallant gun battles and the thundering hoofs of stampeding cattle. Columbia s drama of the great outdoors, "Avenging Waters,” will screen to-night at the K.osy Theatre. Ken May-nurd is starred with a new leading lady, lovely Beth Marion, in this new thrilling photoplay of the open spaces. “Avenging Waters" is the story of Keii Morlcy (tven Maynard) owner of the Diamond K ranch who falls in love with- Mary Mortimer, played by Bctli Illarion.

MAYFAIR THEATRE. “WINGS OVER HONOLULU.” The roar of Navy fighting ’planes, the lungorous,, romance of flic tropics, a l ivid, swiftly paced story—tlicwc arc the elements which Universal lias combined to make top-flight entertainment of “Wings Over Honolulu,” which screens to-night at the Mayfair Theatre. The picture was adapted to the screen by Isabel Dawn and Boyce DcGaw from. Mildred Cram’s famous Red Book magazine novel of the same name. Wendy Barrie plays a beautiful Virginia belle who marires a young Navy officer, played by Ray -Milland. The wife has no knowledge of the conventions, customs and taboos of the naval service. Slic becomes embodied in a situation which almost wrecks her husband's career, Milland will bo remembered as the loading mail of “’llircc Smart Girls.” So that the picture would have absolute authenticity. Universal filmed “Wings Over Honolulu” under the supervision of U.S. Navy officials. Exterior scenes were made on location against the background of Uncle Sam’s fighting craft. In addition to Miss Barrie and Milland. the cast includes such favourites as Kent Taylor, William Gargan, 1 ’oily Rowles, Samuel Hinds, Mary Philips, Margaret McWadc, Joyce Ccmpton, Clara Blandick and Louise Beavers. The picture was directed by 11. C. Potter who recently made “Beloved Enemy.” E.. M. Asher was associate producer.
