Friday’s closing prices for raw materials were as follow, those for July 30 being shown in parentheso : Cotton.—Liverpool quotation, good American middling, pot, 6.20 d a lb (6.12 d); September delivery, 6.02 d a lb (5.98 d). Rubber. —Para, 9£d a lb. (lOd) ; plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 9 l-16d a lb (8Id). Jute. —August-September shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation, £2l 12s 6d a ton (£22 12s 6d). Copra. August-September shipment, sun-dried South Seas, to London or Rotterdam. £ls 2s 6d a ton (same); smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £ls 2s 64 a ton (not quoted); plantation Rabaul, to London or Rotterdam, £ls 17s 6d a ton (£l6). Linseed oil. —£32 5s a ton (same). Turpentine.—36s a cwt. (same).
