A RECIPE.

ORANGE CAKE. Quarter pound butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, half cun milk. 2 cups plain flour, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, half teaspoon carbonate of soda, rind one orange. Cream the butter and sugar, add eggs, flour and cream of tartar, lastly milk, soda and orange rind. Pour into a baking dish and bake in a moderate oi-en 30 to 40 minutes. When cold, ice with orange icing.
