The monthly meeting of the Parewanui Women’s Institute was held at_ “Apa House,” Blrs 11. F .Russell presiding, and extending a cordial welcome to all present, (hough the attendance was only fair, many being absent through illness .ot holidays. The potato-growing competition will again be entered for, Blrs Tattle kindly offering to supply the potatoes for planting. The president gave the motto for the month, ‘‘A place for everything, and everything in its place.” The roll call was, “The. house T should like.” Sewing hints demonstrated by Blrs 81. Homes were greatly appreciated. A competition for ginger-nuts resulted: Blrs 81. Homes 1. Mrs W. IClatt 2. Bliss 11. Russell 3. Next month the competition will be for the best darned working socks. A “bring and buy’” of seedlings will also be held.
