(From Our Own Uorresnondont.) UTUWAT, Aug. 6. The residents of the district gathered at the hall recently to welcome home a newiv married couple, Mr and Mrs J. Brooking. Tho evening pa«sed pleasantly in dancing and games, while vocal solos were rendered* hv Mrs Blixt and Mrs Smith. Miss J. Searle and Mr ,T Wvnne won a novelty dance. Music was supplied hy Mrs Blixt. Mrs Smith and Air 1. Searle, Air K. Searle acting as Af.C. There was a good attendance at tne fortnightly euchre and dance last evening. Miss A Wingate annexed the ladies nrize, while the men’s prize went to Mr J. O’Hagan. Supper was served by the ladies; after which the floor was cleared for dancing to music contributed by Airs Smith and Aliss Searle. Mm D Gravson and familv. of Palmerston North, are visitors to Umufoi, whore they are the guests of Air S. Flemmings. Airs C. Searle. of Piri Piri. has as her guest Mrs T. Osborne, of Norsewocd Rond. Air N. Hart has returned to Umutoi after spending a few days in Fcilding.
