BUSINESS STAGNATION.

PREDICTION IN ALBERTA. ABERHAItT LEGISLATION. EDMONTON, Aug. 7. . The Premier of Alberta (air W. Aberhart) has dismissed the AttorneyGeneral (Air J. W. Hugill) and is taking the portfolio himself. This is the fourth Minister dismissed in two years. Calgary Brokers Ltd., the largest firm of its kind in Alberta, announces that it is closing down, and predicts business stagnation as the result of Mr Aberhart’s legislation. Fifty employees have been dismissed. The Legislature has adopted the Bankers’ Control Bill, demanding that they be licensed by August 27, when the House is prorogued. The bankers will delay doing so, pending the probability of Ottawa disallowing the Act. A message from Ottawa says that the Prime Minister (Mr W. L. Mackenzie King) declared: “When the legislation reaches the capital we will consider what action to. take.”
