CROQUET.

VISIT BY DOMINION PRESIDENT. A visit was paid to Palmerston North on Thursday afternoon by Mr R. M. McCrcath, of Gore, president of the New Zealand Croquet Council, when Coquet enthusiasts gathered at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghanie’s rooms. Mrs G. W. Corhridge, a vice-president, occupied the chair in the absence of tlie president of the Manawatu Association (Mrs W. J. Robertson). Mr McCreath stated that the purpose of his visit was to stimulate interest in croquet for the coining season and to acquaint members of developments, all of which was very much appreciated by those present. Thanks to Mr McCreath were conveyed by Mrs T. Simpson and endorsed

by Mrs Nicholson. 'Mr McCreath also visited Eoilding, I where lie was welcomed by Mrs Petrie. He spoke on similar lines to the players in that centre, Mrs Aiiken voicing their thanks. Mr McCreath lias now proceeded to Wanganui. This is the first time a president

of the Croquet Council has travelled over New Zealand as Mr McCreath lias done at his own expense, and croquet players greatly appreciate his action.
